Macmillan fire walk appeal

DARING fundraisers are being given the chance to take part in a fire walk to raise funds for a leading charity. The Macmillan Fire Walk Challenge will be held on Saturday, February 13, at 7.30pm within M&D’s Theme Park, Strathclyde Country Park, Motherwell. Following a Fire Walk seminar, which will be held prior to the event, the brave fundraisers will walk 20ft over burning hot coals to help those living with cancer. Angela McCormack, fundraising manager for Macmillan, said: “The Fire Walk is such an exciting event and we have had a great response so far so I’m sure it will be a huge success. “I’ve never organised or taken part in a Fire walk before so thought this would be a great opportunity to try something a little different. I would like to thank M&D’s for allowing us to hold the event at their venue.” Macmillan Cancer Support provide emotional, medical, financial and practical support to people affected by cancer and their families. One in three people will receive a cancer diagnosis and two million people are currently living with cancer. If you are interested in signing up for the Macmillan Fire Walk, please telephone 01899 229059 or e-mail amccormack@macmillan.org.uk to request a registration form or for further information. The event is being run by Survivorbility Ltd, Macmillan's official fire walking partner.
